The Goddess of Swan Lake is a reinterpretation of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake produced in partnership with the Sujata Banerjee Dance Company and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Through Kathak's storytelling power, we will tell the timeless love story of Odette and Siegfried. In Hindu mythology, the Swan symbolises purity, grace and inner strength and Saraswati, the Goddess of all art forms and learning, travels on the back of a swan.

Through Kathak dance storytelling power in this reimagined version of Tchaikovsky’s original score, dancers and musicians from SBDC and musicians from the RPO will tell the story of love, betrayal and the enormous power the goddess bestows on her swans to fight evil. The Goddess of Swan Lake is directed by Sujata Banerjee with a score which has been specially written and arranged by Howard Moody and conducted by Orlando Jopling.
