Beethoven's 'Eroica' Symphony

An evening of masterpieces from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Pierre Vallet opens with the delightful and witty overture to Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute. We then hear Beethoven’s ‘Eroica’, a symphony so revolutionary that, from opening explosion to victorious finish, it’s still shaping the way we think and feel about the power of music today.

And finally, Elizabeth Sombart joins the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for Beethoven’s fifth and final piano concerto, popularly known as the ‘Emperor’ – a majestic masterpiece, remaining the composer’s best-known and most frequently performed piano concerto.
