This month the Orchestra embarked on a tour to Europe with Music Director Vasily Petrenko, spanning Slovakia, Croatia, Poland, Lithuania and Greece. Joined by soloists Simon Trpčeski, Sergei Krylov and Anastasiya Petryshak, the Orchestra perfomed music by Beethoven, Sibelius, Bruch, Prokofiev, Wagner and Grieg. Bratislava and Zagreb
The tour opened with a concert in the Reduta Bratislava in Slovakia, the home of the Slovak Philharmonic, with Prokofiev's Symphony No.1, Grieg's Piano Concerto and Sibelius Symphony No.2. Simon Trpčeski returned to play with the Orchestra after having performed for the opening concert of our Journeys of DIscovery series on Sunday 2 October at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall.

The next stop was the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb, Croatia.

Poland
The first of three concerts in Poland was in Wrocław's National Forum of Music, before we were joined by violinist Sergej Krylov in Krakow and Anastasiya Petryshak in Bielsko-Biala.

In the ICE Krakow Congress Centre the RPO closed out the city's ICE Classic concert series with Bruch's Violin Concerto and Sibelius' Symphony No.2.

In the southern city of Bielsko-Biala we were joined by Ukrainian violinist Anastasiya Petryshak in the Cavatina Hall, who played the Bruch Violin Concerto.

The Orchestra then touched down in Kaunas, Lithuania on Wednesday 12 October to perform in the Zalgiris Arena alongside the Kaunas State Choir for Beethoven's Choral Fantasy with Simon Trpčeski.
