Violinist Johan Dalene, our Artist-in-Residence for the 2024–25 Season, introduces himself and the music he'll be playing ahead of his concerts with us this coming season at Cadogan Hall, Northampton's Royal & Derngate, Guildford's G Live and Warwick Arts Centre. Winner of the prestigious Carl Nielsen International Competition in 2019 and Gramophone’s 2022 Young Artist of the Year, the Swedish-born Norwegian violinist is one of the most notable rising stars of his generation.

Johan will open his Residency with us on Wednesday 30 October at Cadogan Hall with Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No.2. Then, on Thursday 27 February 2025, he'll be returning to the same venue to perform Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto under the baton of Shiyeon Sung, performing the same piece the following days at Warwick Arts Centre and Guildford G Live respectively.

On Thursday 29 May he will perform his third and final concert at Cadogan Hall with us as he plays Nielsen's Violin Concerto, and on Saturday 31 May he caps off his Residency at Northampton's Royal & Derngate with Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto.
