The RPO is delighted to announce that we'll be a part of the BBC Proms this September. 

Our event, Prom 68: Wagner Night, is part of one of the BBC Proms’ themes for 2019 which celebrates 150 years of the birth of Proms Founder /conductor Sir Henry Wood.

Monday night was always ‘Wagner’ night when Sir Henry would present audiences with chunks of Wagner, complemented by other composers who had a resonance with Wagner’s music. Our programme is a high-voltage evening to include excerpts from Wagner’s Ringcycle (with Wagnerian soprano Christine Goerke and tenor Stephen Gould) and music by César Franck and Carl Maria von Weber.
