Cello

William Heggart joined the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in 1986, having left a job at the Royal Opera House, excited by the prospect of touring the world and playing his favourite repertoire.

William is a father of two, with his younger daughter sometimes playing violin in the Orchestra, and he is a grandfather of three lovely girls. When not working he loves playing tennis, chess and learning Italian!

William gratefully acknowledges the support of his Chair Patrons, Martin and Liane McCourt.
