In our 70th year, the RPO looks forward to numerous ‘larger than life’ concert series and performances at our three London venues, over fourteen regional residencies, and in our busy schedule overseas. We’re thrilled to begin the New Year with a 16-date tour around the USA with Pinchas Zukerman (in January), visiting cities including Chicago, Tucson, Las Vegas and San Francisco – keep an eye out on Twitter and Facebook (#RPOontour) for updates.

The RPO’s 2016 London season kicks off with the first of five astounding concerts at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in February with a performance of works by Roslavets, Ravel and Shostakovich alongside pianist Ingrid Fliter and conductor Ilan Volkov. We also look forward to more prestigious concerts at Cadogan Hall with artists including Principal Associate Conductor Alexander Shelley (in our jazz-fuelled From Paris to New York series) and leading percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie (in a performance of Michael Daugherty’s new composition Dreamachine), as well as great classics and showstoppers at the Royal Albert Hall.

During our 70th anniversary year, we’re excited to return to over fourteen regional residencies and also to visit concert halls we haven’t been to for a while, including Kingston’s Rose Theatre and Sheffield City Hall. Our regional season features the most galactic highlight of our Platinum year, with seven performances of Gustav Holst’s awe-inspiring suite for large orchestra in The Planets – An HD Odyssey. Featuring the latest high-definition photos and moving images from NASA, concerts will take place in Bristol, Southend, Basingstoke, Edinburgh, London, Birmingham and Northampton in June.
