The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is excited to have been awarded the opportunity to take part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge between 28 November and 5 December 2023, raising funds towards our unique Relaxed Performances.

Our target: £35,000
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s biggest match-funding campaign and for seven days, the Challenge will provide RPO supporters with the opportunity to have their donations matched pound for pound. This year marks the first time the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has had the opportunity to take part in this impactful philanthropic initiative, and the RPO is delighted to announce that it has already received a significant pledge from a very generous benefactor which will be used as match funding for any donations made during the Big Give Christmas Challenge week. In addition, we are grateful to have received Big Give Champion funding from The Reed Foundation. These pledged funds total £17,500, giving the RPO the potential to raise a total of £35,000 from the campaign week which runs from Tuesday 28 November to Tuesday 5 December.
The RPO’s mission is to enrich lives through orchestral experiences that are uncompromising in their excellence and inclusive in their appeal, and in 2023, the RPO’s Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign will raise funds towards our programme of Relaxed Performances. Featuring 25 musicians performing a range of music in imaginative and interactive settings, the RPO’s Relaxed Performances are specially tailored for audiences of all ages who have a variety of accessibility needs, including adults and children with learning disabilities, movement disorders, sensory impairments, autistic spectrum disorder, dementia, and other neurological conditions, or those with young children or babies.
RPO donors to the Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign will have their gifts doubled, therefore every gift, no matter the size, will make twice the impact.
