The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra brought the soundworlds of generations of beloved games to the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 2 June, in partnership with Classic FM, with music from Kingdom Hearts, Fortnite, The Legend of Zelda, Hades, Fallout and many more games performed alongside a spectacular light show.
The 2021-2022 season was a milestone for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Our first full season of concerts in London and across the UK since the pandemic, not only did we celebrate 75 years of music-making since our inaugural concert in 1946, we also welcomed Vasily Petrenko as our new Music Director.
In May 2022 the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra completed its first major European tour since the pandemic with ten concerts across Germany, conducted by RPO Music Director Vasily Petrenko. Star soloists Anne-Sophie Mutter and Khatia Buniatishvili performed alongside the Orchestra to welcoming audiences and rave reviews in two whilwind weeks of travelling and music-making.
